Heart Healthy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is the perfect holiday. Time with family, football, basketball and of course food! Try and bring healthy habits to your Thanksgiving this year!

heart_healthy.pngButter, chicken stock, brown sugar, marshmallows ... and the list goes on for "not-so-healthy" ingedients on the Thanksgiving menu. And, that doesn't account for the quantity of food intake.

It is important during the holiday season to maintain a heart-healthy diet. The tricks of using a smaller plate size and not going back for seconds are great tools to use. One Green Planet has 6 Tips for a Heart-Healthy Thanksgiving that are good reminders for Thanksgiving festivities.

Also, get inspired by the football you're watching and go outside and throw the pigskin around. Enjoy a family walk before AND after you eat your turkey, stuffing, rolls, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce, gravy...

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and stay heart-healthy!
