AEDs only save lives if they are used!
It is great to see Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) popping up in the community and at schools. These lifesaving tools are easy to use and drastically improve survival rates. HOWEVER, it is important that people are prepared, willing and understand how to use these simple devices!

A student, at Lancaster High School, is alive today because of an action plan was in place when she collapsed at the New York high School. 
It is often tragic when facilities have AEDs on site but, they are not used in emergency situations or have expired AED pads or dead batteries.
This high school is a great example of how to be prepared in emergency cardiac situations!
