Sudden cardiac arrest is a major public health issue affecting an estimated 500,000 people each year. Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are devices that deliver a life-saving shock and their use in an emergency can often mean the difference between life and death for the victim.  AEDs are safe, easy to use, and can be used by anyone. The challenge is that many bystanders are not conscious of their locations in public spaces or do not know that they can and should be retrieved and used during a cardiac emergency.
